बिरवाडी
रोहा च्या आजूबाजूस चार किल्ले आहेत. त्यात बिरवाडी, अवचितगड, तळा आणि घोसाळगड असे किल्ले आहेत. नीट नियोजन केले तर हे सर्व किल्ले दोन दिवसात बघून होतात. या खेपेला बिरवाडी आणि अवचित करायच ठरवलं.
बिरवाडी किल्ला रोहा पासून १८ कि मी वर आहे. बिरवाडी नावाचं गाव आहे. तिथे एक खूप मोठा भवानी मातेचा मंदिर आहे. तिथूनच रस्ता गडावर जातो. गाडी पायथ्यापाशी लावता येते. एक रस्ता मंदिराच्या डाव्या बाजूनी, म्हणजे न पायऱ्या चढता खालूनच पुढे जातो. जातांना एक खूप मोठा झाड लागेल. तो रस्ता पकडून, गडाचा डाव्याबाजूनी वर जाण्याचा मार्ग आहे. तिथे मळलेली वाट आहे आणि सहज ३० मी मध्ये वर पोचता येते. आम्हाला ही वाट माहित नव्हती त्यामुळे उतरतांना ही वाट वापरली.
भवानी मातेच्या मंदिरा कडून गडावर जाण्यासाठी रस्ता आहे. तिथे महाराजांचा एक पुतळा आहे. त्यामागून वर जायला रस्ता आहे. चढ आहे. बुरुज पाशी पोहचल्यावर डाव्या बाजूनी रस्ता थेट किल्ल्याच्या महादर्वाज्या पाशी नेतो. या गडावर बऱ्याच टाक्या आहेत आणि काही वाड्याचे अवशेष बघायला मिळतील. सात बुरुज आहेत.
उन्हाळा होता आणि त्यात दुपारी १. ३० ची वेळ. पाणी बरोबर ठेवावे.

Both Avachit and Birwadi happened. We had decided to do these treks a month ago, but for some or another reason it was not happening. We had a great time. Stamina testing. Karnataka elections were just happened and BJP had won maximum seats. They had to prove the majority and we came to know towards the end of the day that they could'nt. So the discussions were based on politics and India, progress and governance etc. Since BD was there, Maharaj and the discussions with stories is always a part of the trek. Its interesting what you can know about people when you travel.
On the way to Birawadi, just after you leave Roha and turn left near the bridge, within less than a KM, there is a small place, eatery of a Muslim couple. We stopped there after the Avchit trek to have a bite. IF you like food and understand taste, you should eat at this spot. I enjoyed the food, freshly cooked and hot. Try it. Traveling in Konkan is a treat in itself. The beautiful nature, amazing food and the language. Konkani language.
